I’m a crafter, how can I help?

If you are a knitter, we need your skills. We need to accumulate almost 50000 squares to complete the project, no one knitter can accomplish this alone, so we are calling all knitters who have a few hours of time, to help us complete the memorial blanket.

If you are a crocheted, we need your skills as well. As we assemble the large blanket, we are also making individual blankets for a variety of agencies impacted by Covid_19, for example, long term care facilities, homeless shelters, women’s shelters, and indigenous communities. We also require some crocheters who are able to help use with assembly events, as each square will be crocheted together.

Other volunteer opportunities

During multiple stages of this project, we will require several volunteers. Different volunteer opportunities include, photography, book lay out, helping at assembly events, curation and record keeping of squares, assistance with travel arrangements for the blanket. There will be multiple other volunteer opportunities. Volunteering for this project, doesn’t require you to be local to the project, there are lots of opportunities, for anyone who may have some extra time to contribute.
